Broken Solitude

The temple outside the city walls of Falia in the realm of Avalon was devoid of the sounds of Fae activity and energies as Jessica sat cross legged on the worn stone rocks that served as the floor of the temple. Keeping her eyes closed she stretched out with her senses and felt the living essence of the forest and wildlife around her. She could feel the gentle breeze moving the strands of her hair that hung by her cheek as she let the stresses of the last month flow from her core letting her meditative state deepen until time no longer was a concern to her.

Unaware of exactly how much time had passes since she started her meditation, she was dragged back to the present by a growing blackness approaching her place of tranquil solitude. Remaining motionless she focused her senses in the direction of the growing darkness and felt the presence of three beings, two of average intellect and one mindless and angry.  As they got closer she was able to identify the creatures as Dark Elf Beastmen and what could only be one of their notorious Shadow Wolves, a beast known for its mindless ferocity and ability to absorb massive amounts of punishment and fight on.

Knowing she would only have one chance at defeating this trio of killers she waited until they entered the temple and found their way into the courtyard she was in. Her hands in her lap, she slowly beings a transportation spell and waits until she senses the chain around the Shadow wolf’s neck released. She could hear the sharp dagger like claws scrape along the stone floor as it slunk forward as its muscles began to coil waiting for the perfect moment to spring.

Feeling the building rage of the creature reaching a boiling point, Jessica sprung to her feet and spun around as she cast the final elements of her transportation spell as the wolf sprung giving it no time to avoid the rapidly expanding blue vortex that materialized in front of Jessica and swallowed up the Shadow Wolf before it even knew what was going on.

As the vortex collapsed Jessica began to cast a more powerful spell as she advanced towards the two Dark Elf Beastmen, a fire in her eyes and her hands and fingers dancing with powerful Fae energy. “Now why don’t you tell me who sent you before you find yourself following your Shadow Wolf.”

2015 art jam announcement and other stuffWhooo 2015 already, boy does time fly. Seems like only yesterday I found my way here to D.A. but come March I will have been active here for two years.
And what a time those two years have been. Glad to say the experience has been mostly positive, I have been exposed to the talents of some amazing writers and artists and made a bunch of good friends, some of whom share my interests, others who don't
So, to celebrate, this year there will be another E18 artjam, maybe more than one  we will see. Unlike last year, which was focused on the Bratts exclusively, this years E18 birthday jam has been expanded to include all of the E18 characters, so Alchemica, Ether Leap, En-Trance can all be used to name a few.
The Theme of this years jam is Surprise!!! in all its forms, whether that be a heroine falling into a villains trap, someone putting Dee on a diet (I hope they have life insurance), or someone coming home to a candle lit dinner and some romance for afters.  As long as it fe
